Target Global - Venture Capital

TARGET GLOBAL is a leading venture capital fund which assists founders and startups to become world-class success stories. We invest from seed through early and growth stage from our offices in Berlin, Tel Aviv, London, Moscow and San Francisco. We focus primarily on fast-growing digital-enabled B2C and B2B companies in marketplaces, fintech, enterprise software and mobility. We currently hold investments in 35 companies including Delivery Hero, Auto 1,, GoEuro, Wefox, Dreamlines, Smartfrog and Book a Tiger. With more than €500m under management, we are one of the largest venture capital funds in Germany.

Working Student or Analyst Intern

We are currently looking for a Working Student or Analyst Intern to join our investment team in Berlin.

Working field:

During the internship you will be a core member of the TARGET GLOBAL team and attend meetings and contribute insights on investments. Activities include the following:
  • The main role will be to assist with initial evaluation of pitches from startups. We receive many inbound requests and need to filter and determine whether to progress each startup to more substantial review.
  • We also approach companies in interesting markets that we feel have high growth potential. As part of this we will undertake research on market segments and build relationships with those companies we feel have a strong chance of becoming a leader.
  • You will also have the opportunity to support the investment process on companies we decide to progress further. This includes analysis on the market, product, competitors, team and financials, as well as preparation of investment memos.
  • In addition, you will also assist portfolio companies on specific initiatives, be it analysis on M&A opportunities, strategy or debt/equity raising.
  • Finally there may be an opportunity to assist with fund management and reporting.

We are seeking an intern that has completed or will soon complete university studies (at least undergraduate, you may have not completed masters). A focus on corporate finance, entrepreneurship or economics is beneficial. Experience in venture capital, entrepreneurship, digital industries or consulting is also favourable, but not necessary. The ideal candidate is someone that is:
  • A high academic achiever with strong analytical skills
  • Is naturally curious and a capable researcher
  • Demonstrates passion and an understanding of technology businesses and the
entrepreneurial ecosystem more broadly
  • Strong English written and oral communication skills, German is a plus
  • Capable in Excel and working with data
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously

What we offer:

This internship provides an opportunity to understand the venture capital investment process, assist with portfolio companies and understand what venture capital funds look for when making an investment (both early and late stage). The role is ideal for someone in the early stage of their career and seeking to work in either venture capital or at a startup.

How to apply:
